These tools will generate a set of DITA XML files from the WikiTree profiles associated with the scope of the request. The output will be provided as a ZIP file that you can publish with the DITA OpenToolkit (DITA-OT) as a PDF, HTML, or other deliverable types.

Note: Before using these tools you must be registered with iRoots.Net. The output is written to a "member area" only accessible to you. If you want to give this a test drive, please register here.
- Ancestors - Export an ancestor tree to DITA.
- Descendants - Export a descendant tree to DITA.
The ancestor output uses the Ahnentafel numbering style. The first person is the number 1, their father is twice that (in this case 2) and their mother is one more than the father (3). Each generation follows this format where the father's number is twice the child's, and the mother is one more than the father. This results in sequential numbering for each person in an ancestor tree.
The descendant output uses a custom numbering style that supports extensibility of the tree in both directions. The first person will be 50.1, meaning the 50th generation (from some distant place), and "1" being the first (just because that's where you've decided to start; really, anyone could be the "first"). (Starting at the 50th generation is optional; you can start at any number you want.) The order of individuals within a generation will initially be sequential, but new people can be added, which may result in siblings having non-sequential numbers.
Note: The data downloaded from WikiTree to create these DITA files is deleted from the server right after use, and the resulting ZIP file that you download is deleted after 2 weeks.
